The

Veteran’s

Memorial

is

located

on

East

Claiborne,

next

to

Post

29’s

Legion

Hut.

While

not

part

of

an

American

Legion

Post,

it

is

maintained

by

a

dedicated

Veterans

Memorial

Committee.

Veterans,

their

families,

friends

and

the

general

public

are

invited

to

visit

the

Memorial.

Some

2200

bricks

are

inscribed

with

the

names

of

veterans

from

Leflore

County

who have served in the U. S. Armed Forces.

Visit

the

Veteran’s

Memorial,

it

is

a

fitting

presentation

to

those

who

served

and

especially

to

those

who

gave

their

all

for

our

Freedom.

served, but many died!

member

First

Presbyterian

Church

and

Boy

Scout

Troop

4200,

chose

as

his

Eagle

Scout

project,

the

time

consuming

and

painstaking

job

of

cataloging

the

2200

Memorial

Bricks

on

the

Veteran’s

Memorial.

Soliciting

the

help

of

other

scouts,

he

directed,

assembled

and

presented

the

alphabetical

listings

so

you

can

find

the

location

of

specific

bricks

on

this

site.

In

addition

to

the

work

displayed

here,

John

Hollis

presented

Post

29

with

three

ring

binders

for

hands

on

use

and

weather

proof

panels

to

be

displayed at the Veteran’s Memorial.
